Interview with Streetwear Brand: Popular Loner

If you’re from Raleigh, NC, or currently live here, you’ve probably heard of the up-and-coming streetwear brand: Popular Loner. I’ve enjoyed connecting with owner LaSean after making one of my first purchases from her brand. I knew she would be the perfect person for my next blog. A couple of things that intrigued me about her brand was the marketing and customer service. The color choices and designs are eye-catching, and that’s important with any clothing brand. We all love a good t-shirt or sweatsuit, and Popular Loner is definitely one of my favorites. LeSean will share some information on the brand Popular Loner and anything new coming up this year.

Tell us about how you chose the name Popular Loner and why you launched your brand?

I chose the name from a Rapper by the name of Rodwave. I related so much to his song Popular Loner that I thought maybe I could make a brand out of the song title. I would always go to the mall, and everything looked the same. So, I decided one day to push the idea. In 2019, I launched my brand Popular Loner, and it’s been taking off since then.

What does a Popular Loner mean to you?

To me, a popular loner is well known, but in reality, they don’t know me personally because I enjoy keeping to myself.

There is so much competition in the fashion industry. How have you been able to grow and set yourself apart from other businesses like yours?

I believe what sets mine apart is the meaning. I’m pushing the idea that it is okay to be to yourself and not follow a crowd.

Many people are always second-guessing starting their brand, whether its clothes, lash business, food industry, nails, etc. What’s some advice you would give on starting your brand?

Don’t doubt yourself! Enjoy whatever it is you that you are pushing. RESEARCH AND NETWORK!! It’s essential to set goals for your business and stay away from negativity.

What is your favorite item from your brand, and why?

Olive Green Sweatsuit is definitely my favorite. I love the color, but the quality of the sweatsuit is definitely A1.

That’s one of my favorites as well, along with the turquoise sweatsuit.

Well, the weather is changing up, anything new coming out that you would like the readers to be on the lookout for in Spring/Summer 2021?

For Spring/Summer 2021, We are dropping fits for men & women, new color signature Shirts, Trucker Hats, and a kids release. I’m excited about it all.
